POISON IVY AND OTHER POISONOUS PLANTS
First comes the itching, then a red rash, and then blisters. These symptoms of poison ivy, poison oak, and poison sumac can emerge any time from a few hours to several days after exposure to the plant oil found in the sap of these poisonous plants. The culprit: the urushiol oil. Click on the link below for more information on how to identify, prevent & treat poisonous plant exposure. Also watch the video to identify these plants.

NY CCE EDEN is supporting NOAA's National Weather Service "WeatherReady" nation vision, which includes increasing partnerships and redoubling our efforts in public outreach and education for all kinds of severe weather including floods. Next week offers a great opportunity for all entities in New York to prepare for floods and flash floods.
It is imperative that our citizens be prepared for flooding, whether it be from a thunderstorm with excessive rain, snow melt, ice jams, dam breaks or a tropical storm or hurricane.
The following websites have excellent information on flood safety.
